Attendance Policies

The University of Leeds has set expectations for students regarding attendance and absence. Within the School of Medicine, this is especially important.

Students must use Minerva to register any absences from the course, including missing placement days. When they are scheduled to attend placements, they should also contact their placement provider directly to report an absence. This should be done as early as possible, ideally prior to their expected start time.

If a student is absent for less than one week, they can self-certify the illness. As is the case with employment, longer periods of absence will require a fit note.
