The Student Education Service (SES) Placement Team manages processes relating to the allocation of clinical placement activities within the School of Medicine. Ensuring that students are allocated to appropriate placement providers and that placement allocation information is disseminated in a clear and timely manner to students and placement providers the SES Placement Team acts as a vital link to support the delivery of placement activities on School of Medicine programmes.

The SES Placement Team works in close collaboration with Academic Leads and Business Management placements colleagues in the School of Medicine in addition to placement providers in order to best identify the placement areas that can offer the maximum potential for students to achieve all relevant learning outcomes and receive the support necessary to develop as experienced healthcare professionals

All placements are allocated in accordance with individual student need and best reflect the stage of learning each individual student is at. Practical issues such as where individual students live and student mobility are also taken into account. Whilst juggling the demands of a large student base the SES Placements Team endeavours to be both flexible and understanding in their approach to students.
